In February 2011 seven musicians came to Amsterdam to sell their dream concert to a group of five programmers. Bojan Cicic's  Republic to Empire programme was chose to tour in the venues of the five  programmers: Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ-Amsterdam, BOZAR-Brussels, Concertgebouw Bruges, AMUZ-Antwerpen and during the concert season of the Organisatie Oude Muziek. 

 

Bojan’s pogramme shows the musical style to which he feels personally close. Up until the era of Napoleon, a part of Croatia belonged to the Venetian Republic, the other part to the Habsburg monarchy. In presenting lesser known works by Jelic and Rognoni, juxtaposed with works by Bertali and Vivaldi, Bojan shows it is possible to find common ground with two very different styles of music.
