Marc and Maarten Slendebroek, classical music enthusiasts, wanted to support Jumpstart Jr. Foundation in its aim to supporting young gifted Musicians. They were especially taken in by the fact that, besides the support offered, there was the possibility of investing in a fine instrument.
In 2014 we started our procedure of selecting an instrument. After extensive research and testing we found the Goffredo Cappa, built in Turin around 1700 AD.
It goes without saying that such a fine instrument should be played by someone rather than kept in a museum. In 2014, Sergey Malov auditioned and was chosen as one of the Musicians to receive an instrument on loan from Jumpstart Jr. Foundation. The match between Sergey and the Goffredo Cappa was easily made.
Marc and Maarten are thrilled at the prospect of not only helping this gifted young Musician with their investment but by doing so contributing significantly to preserving this instrument for future generations as well.
